Actor Sehban Azim, known for his work in shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Bepannaah, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Thapki Pyar Ki, Spy Bahu and Tujhse Hai Raabta, gets into a joyous zone as he talks about the significance of Mother’s Day with IWMBuzz.com. He speaks about the special place that he has in his life for his mother, Dr Nigar Azim.

Sehban is also known for his acting in web series like Dear Ishq, Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, among others.

One’s earliest memories happen to be those of childhood, and Sehban talks about his Mother’s Day celebration as a child. “Until the 4th standard, I didn’t know of the concept of Mother’s Day. One day, my teacher in school spoke about Mother’s Day, and I decided to make a handmade jewellery box for her in my SUPW class. I gave it to her on Mother’s Day. She cried out of happiness and hugged me. For the longest years, she was using that little decorated box made out of cardboard. It was kept in her almirah, filled with jewellery as long as I could remember. The jewellery box became more sacred and meaningful than the jewellery inside.”

Sehban acknowledges his mother’s role in his life as he says, “Honestly, she is the one who has made my life a better place. There are several people that I’ve met over the years who claim that my mother changed their lives as their teacher in school, and they owe so much to her for everything they are now. All this was, of course, not possible without my father’s help. Having said this, my mother had the courage and determination to pull it all off.”

“She currently leads a progressive writers’ club for women, comprising over 150 emerging female authors whom she supports and mentors in their writing journeys. She believes that women in our society need more encouragement to pursue their writing aspirations, as there isn’t a dedicated organisation to provide this support. She has named the club “Banaat,” which translates to girls or daughters. So far, they have already celebrated the publication of several books. In simple words, she inspires so many people around her”, he says being the proud son.
