Kinshuk Mahajan who started his journey as the chocolate boy with amazing looks has transformed himself into an actor who has seen it all and handled himself really well.
From Sapna Babul Ka.. Bidaai to Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Afsar Bitiya, and the relatively recent Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka to his present stint as lead in Pandya Store, Kinshuk has flourished as an actor and has gained maturity with every character he has played.
In the role of Gautam Pandya (in Star Plus’ Pandya Store), the big brother and patriarch of the Pandya family, Kinshuk Mahajan has gotten so very well into the skin of the character. Gautam is patience-personified, and we cannot think of an actor other than Kinshuk to play this role.
In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Kinshuk talks of his new show and his role.

Pandya Store rocks. How is the feeling?
Pandya Store is a superb show. I am thankful to God for giving me this opportunity to be a part of it. Yes, the show is being liked very much now. The story is very interesting. There are three couples on the show, and the romance between each one of them is so very different and amazing. It is a family entertainment drama show and I am glad more and more people like it.
What do you think has connected well with the viewers?
The show in itself has a good youth appeal, at the same time, it is a family entertainer. The best aspect is that all the characters are vulnerable and have a lot of dimensions to them. All of this has worked in favor of the show. With every episode, the story is changing and is bringing something new to the table.
Gautam has been like the warm and patient husband, son and brother. What do you like the best about him?
What I like about Gautam as a character is that he has a lot of patience in him. He loves everyone in his family equally. He is the proper Ram, is there around for everyone. Gautam is a very mature individual. Sometimes, even when Dhara is not able to understand a particular situation, he is the one who gives that support and advice to Dhara to handle things. Normally, in daily soaps, the male lead has a limitation, and the female lead takes charge. But with Gautam and Dhara, both of them are the problem solvers in the family.
The leap in the story has given the show a new flavour. How has this phase been?
I am really enjoying the post leap story. All the brothers and their spouses who have come into the show are great actors. Their addition has given the story a new flavour. That’s the reason why the show is much more popular right now. People are loving all the four brothers and the three ladies of the house. The chemistry between the couples, the chemistry between the brothers is being loved.
Kanwar, Mohit, Akshay, Alice, Simran and Shiny along with you really light up scenes. How is your offscreen bonding?
Our offscreen bonding is very nice. We are all now a family. We take care of each other. We advise each other how to do a scene, and motivate each other. We are all not co-stars on the set. We are all from one family that is the Pandya family.
Who is the prankster on set?
Kanwar Dhillon is a funny guy. Everyone enjoys his talks. Akshay Kharodia is a sweetheart. He is exactly like Dev in the show. Mohit Parmar is our Gyaan Baba, who talks about everything. Shiny Doshi is like Dhara, manages everything. I am typically Gautam on the set.
What can viewers look forward to in the storyline?
The best thing about the show is that viewers can expect everything – the bonding, fights, drama, romance. I hope that in the future also, we are able to deliver all these variations in the plot and characters.
How is it shooting away from home, kids and family?
It is really tough. Thankfully, Divya managed to be by my side during the shoot. Now she has left for Mumbai to be with the kids. I hope we also get back to Mumbai as soon as the situation gets a bit normal. We are entertainment warriors, trying to deliver entertainment to people who are at home. Yes, I have started missing my kids and my family. Hopefully, things should change soon for the better!!
