Actor Poulomi Das has always wished to be part of the family of the cult show on TV, Naagin. Now that she got a chance to be part of Naagin 6 on Colors, Poulomi feels good about it.
In a conversation with IWMBuzz.com, she took us through the role and the nuances of playing this unique role.
Says Poulomi, “I have always wanted to be part of Naagin. But it never happened till now because of various reasons. This time, when I got a phone call, all fell in place.”
This comeback to TV via Naagin 6 was crucial for Poulomi Das as she gets back to work after being ill for the last few months.
“I was terribly sick a couple of months back. I had a brain haemorrhage. I was on bed rest for two months. I was in my home town and got back to Mumbai in January 2023. So shooting for Naagin 6 made me feel very happy,” says Poulomi.
Talking about her role in Naagin 6, “Suvarna is the sister of the main guy, Raghu. She was born and brought up in the Naag lok. So this is a good role to get back to TV with.”
“I was earlier exploring OTT. Stories there are very refreshing. But to be very honest, I love TV. I learnt everything that I know about acting through TV. Artists who start with TV have a stronger background, is what I will say,” says Poulomi.
Poulomi recently played a naxalite for Sony LIV’s Jehanabad. “I want to do something that I have not done before.”
Poulomi dates non-Indian military personnel serving abroad. “I will not shift base to his land as I have my work options here. He will never be able to shift to India because of his job. Yes, we will have to juggle and meet up when we are free. He loves India and Indian food. Pandemic has taught us a lot. So we will take life as it comes.”
“I am open to TV shows. It is continuous work. I love working. As I told you, I love TV and this is where I learnt my art,” ends Poulomi.
