Soniya Bansal has made a mark for herself in the industry of showbiz by trying out various roles and different formats across mediums. From reality shows to films, the actress has been adding new projects to her kitty. She is now gearing up for her forthcoming Bollywood movie Malamaal Weekly 2. Away from her professional commitments, Soniya is looking forward to celebrating Diwali with her family.

Talking about one memory that has stayed with her, Soniya said, “When I was a kid, I used to be very scared of firecrackers. I would run inside the house whenever people started bursting them. Even today, I prefer staying away from firecrackers. I mostly celebrate Diwali at home with my family. I enjoy celebrating every festival, but Diwali has always been special to me.”

The actress also spoke about a personal change in her spiritual beliefs over the past two years. She added, “A major change has happened in my life in the last two years. Earlier, I used to worship idols (murti puja), but now I don’t follow idol worship anymore. This has been an important change in my life and the way I look at things.”

For Soniya, the festival should not be limited to shopping, expensive celebrations or spending money. She believes inner happiness and peace matter much more than how grand the celebrations are.

“People spend a lot of money during Diwali, but I feel what matters most is having peace and tranquillity in your mind. You should have so much happiness within you that you feel like celebrating Diwali every day. I am going to celebrate the festival with my family, and I know I will enjoy that time,” she said.

When it comes to exchanging gifts, the actress does not believe in spending beyond her means. “I don’t buy or give gifts that are too expensive. If someone gives me something they have chosen with love, I will never ignore or disrespect that gesture. But when I’m buying for other people, I like to get things that are easy on the wallet. I don’t believe in spending too much or investing too much on material things,” Soniya concluded.
