Talented actress Geetanjali Tikekar, who is well-known for her TV shows such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Karam Apna Apna, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?…Ek Baar Phir and Naagin – Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel, is all set to entertain masses in a new character Savita in Sony SAB’s new show Shubh Laabh – Aapkey Ghar Mein.

The new show illustrates a transformative journey of its characters, where they will learn to find a balance between devotion and spirituality in their daily lives. In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Geentanjali spoke about her new character, show, and more.

How does it feel to be part of a show like Shubh Laabh?

I feel like a student going to a new school every time I start a new show. The excitement of working with a new team and donning a new character drives me. With Shubh Laabh too, I felt the same butterflies in my tummy. The team welcomed me warmly and now I am loving it in my new TV family.

What are your thoughts on the concept of the show?

The concept of the show is based on the real-life situations of a middle-class family, their dreams, and aspirations, along with the highs and lows of their life. It’s everything that has happened to most of us at some point in our lives but what sets the show apart is the way it will get the audiences hooked to it by its out-of-the-box concept. The concept of this show blurs the line between the reality of our lives and the presence of divinity that we take for granted or overlook completely.

What do you like the most about your characters?

In this show, my character, Savita is a homemaker, mother, and wife, her entire world revolves around her family. I feel what sets her apart is that she is a dreamer and an optimist and believes that everything will eventually get better. What I look for in my characters is the scope to be as versatile as possible within the bracket of the storyline. To be able to do that in a daily soap is a blessing in itself.

What are your expectations from your roles?

I expect my role to be pivotal to the storyline and most importantly to be accepted and loved despite the shade of a character. I have done positive and negative characters in equal measure. I am glad that I have not been stereotyped as either.

Any particular challenges you faced while getting into the skin of the character? What preparation you did for the show?

When one gets into a character, the preparations begin on a very personal level. One relies on personal observations and experiences to build character. Sometimes when you can’t take cues from either, that becomes very difficult. It mostly happens with larger-than-life characters. But with Savita, it was easy because I had a team of brilliant writers and creatives who went the extra mile to help me adapt and adopt Savita.

How is your working experience with the cast?

The cast will be my family till the show goes on. And like my previous projects I hope even thereafter. I am working with a very talented bunch. Some new, some seasoned, but together we are a great team.

Finally, your message to your fans…

Whenever I associate with a new show, I hope that my fans love and accept me in that character and appreciate my work. I want my fans to love and appreciate this show. We have worked very hard on this show. Please keep your love flowing.
