Actor Vaishnavi Ganatra, who essays the role of Aarna Deshmukh in the popular Zee TV show Jagadhatri, produced by Rahul Tewary Productions, is currently winning praise for portraying one of the most emotionally layered tracks on the show. The recent storyline explored Aarna’s journey through betrayal, anxiety, fear, guilt and confusion. The actor says the intense arc has been both challenging and deeply rewarding.
Speaking about the demanding sequence of events in the show, Vaishnavi shared that the storyline carried immense emotional weight for her character. “This track had a lot of emotional weight because Aarna went through betrayal, anxiety, fear, guilt and confusion almost back to back. It wasn’t just about reacting to one incident — it was about carrying that trauma in every scene after. I genuinely loved performing every single scene because emotionally intense scenes are my forte as a performer. They’re definitely challenging, but also very fulfilling and rewarding,” she said.
I’m actually quite comfortable with emotional scenes. I don’t try to force anything — I just stay in the present and let the situation affect me.
The ongoing track also marks a significant shift in Aarna’s equation with Shivay, played by Farman Haider. According to Vaishnavi, the emotional depth of the storyline transforms their dynamic, making the bond between the characters feel more genuine. “In the beginning, their dynamic was quite surface-level and light. Initially, there wasn’t a very deep emotional investment from Aarna’s side. But this track shifts everything. When Shivay chooses to stand by Aarna in her most vulnerable phase, it naturally changes their relationship. What really stands out is that Shivay becomes Aarna’s anchor. He creates a sense of security around her. The way he reassures her strengthens their bond in a way that feels earned and very real.”
While the on-screen narrative may be emotionally draining, Vaishnavi reveals that the off-screen atmosphere on the sets is the complete opposite — relaxed and supportive. She particularly credits her co-actor Farman Haider for creating a comfortable environment during intense shoots. “Off-screen, it’s honestly very easy and fun. We keep it light, joke around, and that comfort really helps after heavy scenes. At the same time, there’s a healthy give-and-take — we exchange feedback, help each other out, and there’s mutual appreciation. It’s a very natural, comfortable equation. Platonic, very flowy, and that ease reflects on screen too. When you trust your co-actor, especially in emotionally draining sequences, it automatically makes everything smoother. It’s exactly this way with Farman.”
Vaishnavi also spoke about the craft behind performing emotionally demanding scenes and the discipline required to maintain authenticity throughout the shooting schedule. “I’m actually quite comfortable with emotional scenes. I don’t try to force anything — I just stay in the present and let the situation affect me. The real challenge is maintaining that emotional continuity for days. When you’re shooting back-to-back intense scenes every day, it really tests your emotional stamina. You have to keep finding the same depth and honesty each time without letting it feel repetitive. But when the scene comes together the way you imagined, there’s a quiet satisfaction that makes all that intensity completely worth it. It feels fulfilling to know you’ve given your all and you’ve been emotionally honest to the audience.”
Best of luck!!
