Actress Priya Thakur, who is winning hearts with her performance in Zee TV‘s Vasudha, recently shared one of the most memorable fan interactions of her career and reflected on how fan culture has evolved over the years.
Recalling a heartwarming moment at an airport, Priya revealed how a young fan and her mother left a lasting impact on her. “One moment I will never forget is when a little girl came up to me at the airport. She was very shy at first, but then she told me she watches Vasudha every day and even tries to act like my character at home,” Priya shared.
While the young fan’s admiration delighted her, it was the mother’s words that truly touched the actress “I found that really cute, but what touched me even more was when her mother said that I had helped her become more confident. I honestly didn’t know what to say at that moment because I felt very emotional,” she said.
For Priya, experiences like these serve as a reminder of the impact actors can have on their audiences. “Experiences like these make you realise that what we do truly reaches people in a meaningful way, and that feeling is very special,” she added.
The actress also spoke about how interactions between celebrities and fans have transformed with changing times and technology. “I’ve also noticed how fan culture has changed over the years. Earlier, people used to ask for autographs, but now it’s mostly selfies and videos. Personally, I don’t mind it at all because I think it’s just a sign of changing times,” Priya said.
She believes that selfies have created a more personal connection between stars and their admirers. “Selfies feel more fun and personal, as fans get to capture a real moment with you. Of course, autographs have their own old-school charm, but I genuinely enjoy meeting people and clicking pictures with them,” she explained.
Summing up her thoughts on fan interactions, Priya emphasised that the bond between an artist and their audience is what truly matters. “In the end, what matters most is the love and connection, not whether it’s a selfie or an autograph,” she concluded.
