Small screen vamp Lavina Tandon, who recently shot for a sensual number for her Star Bharat show, Musakaan (Rashmi Sharma Productions) will not be comfortable doing bold web series.
“I really like the digital format, for it allows you to do real life characters, unlike TV, which is more fiction. I am also game for movies, but then they are tougher to come your way,” she states.
“It is not that I don’t want to. It’s just that a mental block prevents me from showing my sexuality on screen. I will not be able to bring it out as it is happening naturally between a couple,” Lavina adds.
“Like during the shooting of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, I kept asking my director whether I am required to kiss.”
Her other recent TV shows include Waaris and Chandra-Nandini.
Here, this good looking actress, who became known after Jodhaa Akbar, adds, “I am aware that as an actor, I should be able to do all kinds of characters, as that is our job. I am trying to change this drawback in my approach. Let’s see.”
“If tomorrow I get something really juicy and bold like say a Sacred Games, I just might overcome my above issues and go ahead. But yes, I will then break down afterwards, being very conscious about these things,” she avers.
Recently, Lavina shot for a dance number in her show Musakaan wherein she had to be sensuous and appealing. “I enjoyed it, for not only was the song my favorite, but more importantly, I always like to shake a leg. Normally, supporting actors on TV don’t get songs, which are only reserved to show love between the leads.”
Here, she adds, “Although my costume was a bit hot (backless, short choli, with exposed midriff) as required by my hooker character, nowhere did it look vulgar. Full marks to the choreographers, who made us very comfortable during the shooting.”
Best of luck for future projects, Lavina!!
