According to an official statement shared on Instagram, Mahhi was rushed to the hospital after her health deteriorated earlier this week. The post, which included a picture of her resting on a hospital bed, mentioned that doctors have begun a series of tests to identify the cause of the sudden illness.
“Mahhi Vij has been admitted to the hospital owing to a high fever. We were unable to reach her for further updates, but her publicist, Avantika Sinha, confirms that she is stable. Tests are being conducted, and further details will be shared once results are available,” the statement read.
Before being hospitalised, Mahhi had shared a few Instagram Stories hinting that she was battling a viral infection. One of her posts showed a table full of medicines and supplements, along with a heartfelt message thanking her family and close friends for standing by her during the tough phase. Her well-wishers and industry colleagues have since flooded social media with messages of support and speedy recovery.
The actor, best known for her roles in popular television shows such as Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Balika Vadhu, had recently been in the headlines for addressing rumours about her marriage with actor and television host Jay Bhanushali. Mahhi had strongly denied any reports of a rift, calling the speculation “baseless” and reaffirming that the couple remains together and happy.
