The BARC India Ratings released today, 7 May 2026, for Week 17, sees a further drop in the ratings of TV shows. The top-rated shows drop considerably. Vasudha, the Zee TV show, dethrones Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, as it retains its ratings without any drop, securing the top spot with a TVR of 1.8. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus) is second with a TVR of 1.7. Zee TV’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan also sees a slight drop but holds on to its third spot with a TVR of 1.6.
Zee TV’s Tumm Se Tumm Tak, Star Plus, Anupamaa and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stay joint with a TVR of 1.5. Star Plus shows Udne Ki Aasha, Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hain and the Colors TV shows Naagin 7 and Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment Season 3, have a joint TVR of 1.4.
Zee TV’s Jagadhatri sustains its ratings of 1.3. Sony SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Star Plus’ Mr & Mrs Parshuram get a TVR of 1.2. Colors TV shows Dr Aarambhi and Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki and the Zee TV show Lakshmi Niwas are united with a TVR of 1.1. Star Plus’ O Humnava Tum Dena Saath Mera gets a TVR of 1.0, which is lower than its opening ratings.
Colors TV shows Seher Hone Ko Hai, Mahadev & Sons, Mangal Lakshmi and Tu Juliet Jatt Di get a TVR of 0.9. Star Plus’ Advocate Anjali Awasthi gets 0.8 TVR, Colors TV’s Do Duniya Ek Dil gets 0.6, and Sony SAB’s Hui Gumm Yaadein gets a TVR of 0.5.
Overall, it’s getting tougher for the TV shows to sustain the competition of the cricket fever with the ongoing IPL 2026 all set to reach the playoff stage. All the shows have dropped in ratings with the exception of only a few shows. Vasudha holds its ground and sustains, and gets to be the No 1 show across GECs. Anupamaa needs to regain its lost ratings pretty quickly. The same holds good for shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Udne Ki Aasha, Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hain, Naagin 7, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Mr & Mrs Parshuram, Dr Aarambhi, Mannat, Lakshmi Niwas, Seher Hone Ko Hai, Mahadev & Sons, Mangal Lakshmi, Tu Juliet Jatt Di… well, the list seems to be getting longer with every week. New launch O Humnava Tum Dena Saath Mera is already in the troubled zone.
