After Dil Boley Oberoi, be ready for one more spin off show. According to highly-placed sources, &TV has green lit Edit II (Binaifer and Sanjay Kohli) to start work on a separate show based on their other very popular Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain (channel driver since the start) character, corrupt cop Happu Singh, played by Yogesh Tripathi.

The new series will reportedly only focus on the antics of Happu Singh and his family. This pot-bellied character would always refer to his constantly-pregnant wife and nine kids in Bhabhiji Ghar Pe, but they were never shown. So, audiences will finally get to see them in action. The creative might throw in his mother in as well, just to raise the fun element. Interestingly, no other character from Bhabhiji will be part of the cast; so besides the Happu connection, viewers will get to enjoy a completely fresh story.

Here the source adds that this development just goes to show how popular Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain continues to be, so much that a supporting character has been given a spin off. Happu has always been a very important pillar of the story, which has now completed 1000 episodes. He has always been the extra cog in the Manmohan Tiwari (Rohitash Gaur) wheel to get Anita Bhabhi (Saumya Tandon). Happu always calls her Gori mem.

Post Saumya taking a pregnancy break, Happu’s character has been given more space with standalone tracks, along with Tikka (Vaibhav Mathur), Malkhan (Deepesh Bhan) and Tillu (Syed Salim Zaidi).

When contacted, Yogesh said that he can’t say anything till next month.

We tried to reach Binaifer and the channel spokesperson, but could not get through to them till the time of filing the story.
