Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui found himself in the midst of controversy after being detained during a raid at a hookah bar in Mumbai’s Fort area. As per reports in Hindustan Times, alongside Faruqui, a total of 14 individuals were detained by authorities during the police operation.

According to reports, the raid took place on Tuesday night, with the Mumbai police cracking down on the unlawful operation of the hookah parlour. The establishment, located in Mumbai’s Fort area, was found to be operating without the necessary permits, leading to the detention of those present at the premises.

Munawar, a well-known personality in the entertainment industry, was among those detained during the raid. However, he was later released after questioning, as confirmed by a statement from a Mumbai police official quoted by news agency ANI. During the raid, authorities seized a total of Rs 4,400 in cash along with nine hookah pots valued at Rs 13,500. The crackdown on the hookah parlour underscores the city’s efforts to enforce regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

In response to the incident, the Mumbai police stated, “Big Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui and 13 others were detained, and a case has been registered against them in a hookah bar raid in the Fort area last night. All accused were released after questioning.”
