After Sanjivani, Namah and Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka, yet another Star Plus show is about to wrap up.
Yes now the clock is winding down on the fantasy show Divya Drishti starring Sana Sayyad, Nyra Banerjee, Sangita Ghosh and Adhvik Mahajan. Its current contract expires in December which might be extended for a bit, but not the regular six months.
A source says, “For now all that we know is it’s going beyond December and we have content for it.”
Producer Mukta Dhond herself confirmed the same in her message to us which reads as follows “Divya Drishti is currently on a good run. But I don’t believe in stretching shows endlessly if we can’t hold on to the numbers. So the plan is to run DD till we as a team (Mrinal Jha, Nikita Dhond and I) are confident of the performance. When we think story is up we will end it. The fixed date for that I don’t know. And the Star Plus team is fully supporting me in this.”
Writer Mrinal Jha adds, “Right now there is no indication of whether or when the show is ending. We are happy that we have been able to sustain interest in the content beyond its originally planned run. And we do have some interesting milestones ahead too.”
The exact end will also depends on time line of replacement show, that is when the channel is ready with its marketing plan and thinks it’s good time to put it on air etc, added another source .
Lead actor Adhvik says, “While I have not been officially told anything the thumb rule would be to run a show only if it has meat. And I am sure that makers along with the channel are very wise enough to take correct decisions. Personally when I first signed up back in Feb 2019, it was meant to run only for 6 months, so you can say rest is bonus.”
Well, the countdown to the end of the good run of Divya Drishti has started, we believe!!
