In today’s age, where stand-up artists and comedians have a name and fame for themselves, we have seen many such celebrities turning a new leaf and ultimately showcasing their prowess in the field of acting too!! Vir Das: This talented celebrity started his career as a stand-up comic and later entered the entertainment industry with films like Delhi Belly, Badmaash Company, Go Goa Gone, and Shaadi Ke Side Effects, to name a few. He has also been part of international stand-up shows. He made his debut in American television with the television series, Whiskey Cavalier. Vir has also been part of various shows including Amazon Prime Video’s Jestination Unknown and Netflix’s Hasmukh.

Biswa Kalyan Rath: Biswa Kalyan Rath who is an IIT graduate, started doing stand-up comedy in 2015 and went on his first solo national tour – Biswa In Your Face. He went on to create a popular web series called Laakhon Mein Ek, which was released on Amazon Prime Video. Biswa made his film debut with ‘Brahman Naman’, an English-language Indian s*x comedy film directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee.

Kanan Gill: This talented celebrity was a software engineer by profession. Later, he entered the line of comedy and pursued stand-up. Keep It Real on Amazon Prime Video, Yours Sincerely on Netflix are his best works. Kanan made a dream Bollywood debut when he starred in Sunhil Sippy’s Noor, opposite Sonakshi Sinha in 2017, receiving positive reviews for his performance.

Kapil Sharma: Kapil Sharma rose to fame after winning the comedy reality television show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007 and after that Kapil participated in Sony’s Comedy Circus and he broke all the records and won 6 seasons of the show. In the year 2013 Kapil launched his own show, Comedy Nights with Kapil which got extremely popular. He has also grown into an actor, and has worked in films Bhavnao Ko Samjho, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Firangi and did short appearances in ABCD 2.

Sudesh Lehri: In the year 2007, Sudesh participated in the standup comedy show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Sudesh Lehri also participated in the show Comedy Circus as a contestant with Krushna Abhishek. The two of them grew famous as Krushna-Sudesh. He has acted in films Ready, Jai Ho, Munna Michael etc.

Raju Srivastava: The Late Raju Srivastava is regarded as a great actor. Raju started doing stand-up comedy with the show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and he became the second runner-up of the show. Subsequently, he took part in the spin-off, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions, in which he won the title of “The King of Comedy.” He has acted in films Baazigar, Bombay To Goa, Aamdanni Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya and a few others.

Sunil Grover: He is known for his stint as a comedian in Comedy Nights With Kapil. The amazing stand-up comedian turned-actor is known for the TV show Gutur Gu. He has done many films like The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Main Hoon Na, Dev D, Baaghi etc.

Sugandha Mishra: This talented artist appeared in the TV comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge as a participant and became one of the finalists in the show. Sugandha made her acting debut on the big screen with the movie Heropanti in the year 2014 in a supporting role. She has also appeared on many TV shows like Dance Plus, IPL Extra Inning, Baal Veer, The Kapil Sharma Show, The Drama Company.

Kiku Sharda: Kiku began his career as a stand-up comedian but soon found his place in the industry as an actor. He has featured in films Darna Mana Hai, No Smoking, Dhamaal, Race etc. He has also been seen in popular TV shows F.I.R., Akbar Birbal etc.

Navin Prabhakar: He is known for his stand-up acts in TV shows The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Hello Kaun? Pehcnaan Kaun etc. He later went on to become an actor and presently enjoys great fandom as a performer. He has been part of films No Problem, Bombay To Goa, Vroom, Samrat & Co, etc.
