Comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui recently appeared on the podcast, Serving It Up With Sania, hosted by tennis icon Sania Mirza, on November 6, 2026. During the conversation, Munawar shared the real, untold story behind his sudden second marriage to celebrity makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala.

When Sania asked whether his marriage was a meticulously planned decision or a sudden life shift, Munawar spilled the beans, saying there are different stories because he has never spoken about it, so people don’t know the truth.

Munawar revealed that after winning Bigg Boss 17, he was hit with an overwhelming wave of fame, career offers, and female attention. He admitted that this sudden lifestyle shift was quietly steering him down a path he didn’t like.

Munawar also shared that before Bigg Boss, he learned his ex-wife was getting remarried. Because she chose not to retain custody of their young son, Mikael, Munawar stepped in completely. He initially asked his sister to care for the child for a couple of months until his stint on the reality show Bigg Boss.

After his reality show stint, Munawar said he acknowledged going down the wrong path, which wasn’t good for him or his child. The comedian then locked himself in a room to reflect, detox from showbiz distractions, and reset his priorities. Realizing he had major responsibilities to his son, his sister, and his extended family, he decided it was time to settle down permanently.

Just a week after his self-imposed isolation, Munawar met Mehzabeen through a mutual friend of his cousin. After chatting casually for just two to three days, he learned about her background—that she was also a divorcée and a single mother raising a daughter. After meeting her, he asked her to marry him.

Shocked by the sudden proposal, Mehzabeen asked for time to process the decision. She spent the next seven days speaking closely with her family, and during those seven days, he wished that his wife would say yes. And after that, within a month, the two got married.
