Haryanavi singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary, who rose to fame with Bigg Boss, denied joining the Congress party. Earlier there were reports of she joining the above party.

“I have not joined the Congress party. The photograph with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is old. I am not going to campaign for any political party,” Choudhary said on Sunday, refuting claims of her joining the Congress

The denial by Chaudhary was countered by the party’s member and leader Narendra Nath, who has produced her Congress membership form. The documents confirm Chaudhary’s entry into the Congress with a fee receipt of Rs 5 for joining the party as of 23 March. Chaudhary was formally inducted into the party at Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Raj Babbar’s residence, sources said.

When confronted by reporters about her pictures filling up forms of Congress membership, Chaudhary said if her old interview can be aired, why cannot her pictures be passed off as new.

A close aide of Babbar, who was seen in the picture with Chaudhary Saturday evening, had nothing to say on the singer taking a U-turn. He also displayed the membership form she had apparently filled up on her joining the party.

In the new picture, Chaudhary is posing with Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, she can be seen wearing the same pink kurti that she wore to the press conference on Sunday, 24 March, when she rubbished rumours of extending her support to the Congress party. Chaudhary was keen to contest from Mathura, where the BJP has fielded Bollywood actor Hema Malini.

It is also being speculated that the dancer may join the saffron party.
