Star Plus seems to be planning to go into 2020 with a fresh slate of shows. Barely has the news of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Sanjivani possibly bidding adieu just come out, then our highly placed sources inform us that mytho show Namah too might be yanked off in December or January due to low ratings.

This story about the friendship of Vishnu and Mahadev never picked up traction. The initial numbers were so low that very soon the script was modified, which resulted in the exit of lead actors Vikas Manaktala, Chhavi Pandey and Sara Khan.

Vikas made way for Tarun Khanna as the new Shiv. However, there has been no major change in fate, and apparently, the channel has taken a call to pull the plug.

Our source further added, “Namah is not doing well, not only on TRP, but has failed to find takers on digital and in overseas markets (UK) as well.”

When contacted, Tarun Khanna says, “I have not got any official notification of the same, so will continue to put in my best.”

When asked about low numbers, Tarun admitted, “Had the makers also changed the presentation of the story, rather than just replacing actors and story board, it might have helped.”

“Sadly, the youth is just connecting with us. It is not that they don’t want mytho but they need to be told in their lingo, which is not happening so far.”

“Having said that, I also accept that producer Ved Raj is an old industry hand and I am sure he will have an ace or two up his sleeve.”

Female lead Yukti Kapoor too says she has not heard anything. “We are all working hard, but if the end has to come, we will have to accept it and move on.”

We tried to get in touch with Producer Ved Raj and Star boss Gaurav Banerjee, but could not get through to them.
