One of the most-awaited reality shows of the year, Amitabh Bachchan-led Kaun Banega Crorepati season 14 arrived on Sony TV on Sunday, August 7. The game show, which premiered in 2000, has been hosted by Big B since its inception except for the 3rd season which was presented by Shah Rukh Khan.
The first three seasons of KBC were aired on Star Plus. Since season 4 it has been airing on Sony Entertainment Television. As KBC 14 kick-started on TV with much aplomb, let’s have a quick look at Amitabh Bachchan and ex-host Shah Rukh Khan’s per episode salary.
According to Bollywood Life, for season 1, as per a report in siasat.com, Big B charged Rs 25 lakhs per episode. Unfortunately, the fees of megastar Amitabh Bachchan for seasons 2nd and 4th of Kaun Banega Crorepati have not been revealed.
For the third season, Shah Rukh Khan took up the hosting duties of Kaun Banega Crorepati 3. The star reportedly charged Rs 2.5 crore per episode. Big B returned to the host seat of Kaun Banega Crorepati from the fourth season. His salary for KBC4 is not known. He charged Rs 1 crore, Rs 1,5 crore and Rs 1.5-2 crore for seasons 5, 6, 7, respectively. For seasons 8, 9 and 10, Big B reportedly charged Rs 2 crore, Rs 2.6 crore and Rs 3 crore, respectively. For seasons 11, 12 and 13, Big B reportedly charged Rs 3.5 crore for each episode.
