The episode of Anupamaa starts with Kavya informing the family that the divorce date is tomorrow. Baa asks how will engagement and divorce happen on the same day. Anupamaa says we will welcome a new relationship happily and silently break the old relationship. Baa tells Anupamaa that life has allowed her to choose between happiness and sorrow. She is her saas and it is her order that Anupamaa should choose engagement over divorce. Nandini follows Kavya and asks her why she ruins other people’s happiness. Vanraj and Anupamaa’s divorce was their personal issue; why did she have to go and ruin everyone’s happiness. Kavya says she will not understand her pain. She tells Nandini that she felt sad that her happiness was ruined, but her happiness has been ruined multiple times. People see her as a home breaker but all she wants is to be happy. Kavya hopes people look at things from her perspective.
Baa tells Anupamaa why should she listen to her explanation as she is her saas. She says if Anupamaa wasn’t sick she would have slapped her to teach her a lesson. Baa says when life is giving her happiness why she wants to choose sorrows. She can take the divorce later. Dolly agrees that divorce can be delayed. Kinjal says what’s the point of scrapping wounds again and again by delaying divorce. Baa tells them to shut up and asks Anupamaa to speak. Anupamaa says she is tired of explaining. Baa says she is her mother and as daughter Anupamaa should follow her order. Anupamaa says even a daughter has the right to be adamant. They hug each other and cry.
Kavya is happy that Anupamaa and Vanraj will finally be divorced and she will marry Vanraj. She draws sindoor and mangalsutra on the mirror. Vanraj comes and throws water on it. Anumpamaa apologizes to Samar for ruining his happiness. She says that till now people took decisions for her but now she will take her own decision. She says they did so much for her happiness, so they shouldn’t stop her now. Anupamaa assures that divorce will happen tomorrow and leaves. Baa starts crying, Kinjal says it will be okay. Dolly says not until Kavya is present in their life. Anupamaa steps on a pebble and she starts doing tandav. Kavya tells Vanraj that he is angry now but she did it for their happiness. She says that now he is confused about the divorce, but will thank her later for her acts. Vanraj tells her that he had told her to stay away from him but she always did what she wants. Now he will do what he wants. He says he will not divorce Anupamaa and nor will he come near her. She took away his happiness so he will splash water on her wishes as well.
Anupamaa continues dancing. She remembers Vanraj insulting her and falls down. Advait comes and claps. He says he is glad his patient is venting out her pain rather than tolerating it. Advait says girls are always taught to tolerate pain and make sacrifices. This leaves a scar on their mind. They should always vent their pain and anger instead of tolerating it. Vanraj vents out his anger on a wooden log. He says he first thought he made a mistake by marrying Anupamaa but now feels that he made mistake by loving Kavya. He decides that from now on he will do what he wants.
