The journey of Nawazuddin Siddiqui is quite inspiring and his rags to riches story has been fascinating and more than that it has been inspiring for the youth of today. The journey from being an unknown theatre personality to becoming one of the most respected and recognised actors in the industry is no cakewalk, but Nawazuddin made that happen!
He was born in Muzaffarnagar and his dreams were not affordable by his parents. While working as a chemist in a petrochemical firm, he realised that life was not for him. So he moved to Delhi and worked as a watchman at various places. In his free time, he frequently visited the theatres there, growing a keen interest in acting. He then joined National school of drama and graduated in 1996. After going to Mumbai, he did some very insignificant roles till he finally got his big break in “Black Friday”, directed by Anurag Kashyap in 2007. Since then his career graph has been climbing and he has earned himself millions of viewers by now.
The long struggle for the industry outsider is finally over and how! Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on every film-maker’s most wanted list and a picture perfect fit for every role, to which the actor merely says that he owes all of his success and more to this roots in theatre.
Actors like him are often branded unconventional but it is this very unconventional branding of his that has the directors eyeing him for every script! If we are certain of something then it is the fact that this veteran actor is going to go on to do many more amazing projects and we can’t wait to catch more of him in Netflix’s Sacred Games season 2.
