Who said dreams don’t come true? Well, whoever did, never believed in their own dreams. Ask Sunny Kalra, who wanted to do anything but a government job. Family persuaded, relatives taunted, but he didn’t budge. Not everyone can be a star, they said. But I can be, said Sunny and here he is. A common guy from a simple family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh is now all set to amaze the audience with his amazing performance in a web series. The series will be launched on one of the OTT platforms by the end of the year. If this is not the power of dreams, what is?
Sunny has worked very hard to be the celebrity that he is today. While he thanks god and his parents for his success, we think that his hard work and perseverance also deserve the credit. He didn’t have any godfather to launch him nor did he attend a talent hunt to attract eyeballs. He started by creating social media content and strived to deliver better content each day. He worked on his skills and learnt to market them effectively. Not only did he strive to get better at acting, Sunny also took up courses in digital marketing to learn how to reach a wider audience.

Sunny believes that it is good storytelling that matters and not the number of followers. He believes in working to be better each day and being patient enough to reap the results. The 31-year-old achiever started with zero followers and is now adored by 594k followers on Instagram and over 10 million followers on TikTok. He is one of the most revered TikTok stars in India.

Sunny’s influencer journey helped him bag several branding opportunities and also the chance to collaborate with celebrities. He has collaborated with popular names such as Guru Randhawa, Hardy Sandhu, Adnan Sami etc. Sunny recalls how he used to be nervous before the collaborations and now he is all set to rock every household with his performance in the upcoming web series.

We asked Sunny about his journey so far and he was a bit emotional about it. He said that there were roadblocks but he was confident that his commitment will show results one day. ‘There were times when I got demotivated, but then I told myself that I hadn’t tried enough. That helped me try a little harder. I had a lot of expectations set on me, I couldn’t let them down. I had to make my parents as proud as they would have been, had I bagged a government job. Now they are, and that means the world to me’, said an emotional Sunny.

He also said that he is glad that millions of young people who look up to him will get motivated seeing him act. ‘I want to tell them that if this small city boy can come here, they can too’, said Sunny with a proud grin on his face.

We wish him all the best for his future and hope to see him soon in his dream screen project.
