Time Ka Maalik, the name of the micro-drama itself, suggests what it is all about—the king of time, and the plot revolves around the same thing. However, it opens with the usual rags-to-riches storyline that feels familiar, but Jay Soni as the central character, Reyansh, keeps the viewer hooked with his engaging presence.
Reyansh, who worked as a waiter, was in love with Simran, a rich girl, or just someone who loves money more than anything else. Rejected and insulted by Simran, Reyansh faces heartbreak, but the story takes a turn that few people expect, which makes viewers want to see more.
With a new sequence, the normal rags-to-riches story takes a fantasy turn with Reyansh becoming the king of the time. New power brings new energy and identity for Reyansh, who changes his fate and turns the tables in a way that seems curious. However, the familiar betrayal drama and ‘rags to riches’ twist make it like we have seen it already, but the fantasy twist with powerful acting saves the experience.
With strong performances by Jay Soni, the microdrama breathes life into this otherwise familiar drama. It is worth giving a try despite its predictable storyline. Also, the sequences and drama entertain while keeping you guessing. With fewer surprises, predictability, and strong performance, the show turns out to be a decent watch for those who love drama and fantasy.
