Well, even if you have plans this weekend, MX Player’s Hey Prabhu should be on your watch list for the weekend.
Directed by Shashanka Gosh of Veere Di Wedding fame, the series has Rajat Barmecha essaying the role of the main character Tarun Prabhu, a social media influencer trying to deal with the problem of erectile dysfunction. Rajat made his Bollywood debut with Udaan for which he even won the Best Male Debut Award and he has also been a regular on web series like Girl in the City. Another stellar actor who is a part of the series is Parul Gulati who has been a part of TV series like P.O.W – Bandi Yudh Ke, Netflix’s Selection Day and TVF Girliyapa’s Girls Hostel.
Like much other web content, Hey Prabhu has also depicted the scenes and situations that an average twenty-something social media crazy would face. The series follows the life of Tarun Prabhu who has created an online life which is full of glamour and glitz and yet, in the offline life, he is miserable – his s*x life is on pause and his seniors are giving him grief.
The world is being virtual with every passing day. People are more or less living their lives online believing most everything that they come across. MX Player’s Hey Prabhu shows the real struggle that is often glossed over.
