For years, feminism has been the talk of the town. With the #MeToo movement, celebrities in the entertainment business were finally seen speaking out about the issue; it had become a rage. A number of films, including Naam Shabana, Pink, Queen, Thappad, Raazi, and Panga, among others, have influenced society standards and attitudes. On International Women’s Day, read on to learn what some of our favorite B-town stars had to say on feminism, equality, wage gap, and opportunity, among other topics. Take a look at it.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s feminism struck a chord with equality. She added during the Veere Di Wedding song launch ceremony. She believes in fairness. She is a woman, not a feminist. And, most importantly, she is a human being. She is just as proud of being Saif Ali Khan’s wife as she is of being Kareena Kapoor.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone had to say something really powerful about feminism in a video published a few years ago. She explained, “Your mind is imprisoned; liberate it. Let my body be what it is. She has a choice: to lust for a short time or to love for the rest of her life. It’s up to me if I want to love a guy or a woman, or both. Keep in mind that you are my pick. “We don’t have your privilege.”

Priyanka Chopra

Jonas PeeCee is recognized for being one of the industry’s most outspoken and strong-willed ladies. She isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. The actress spoke up on equal opportunity for everybody and the decline of racism in an interview with a major international publication. She despises the term “woman of color.” She believes that this places women in a box. She said she is a woman, regardless of whether she is white, black, brown, green, blue, or pink. She believes we need to broaden our horizons. It would be a huge victory for women in general.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut is the embodiment of a strong-willed, courageous woman. She has a flawless aura and carries herself with ultimate grace. She shared her fiery yet completely honest stance on feminism in an interview with MiD-Day, saying, “It’s ridiculous to expect males to speak up for feminism. They are accustomed to being given first attention in all areas. Women looked after their dwellings and provided them with sex, thus it was a comfortable existence for them. Women are waking up from their chauvinistic stupor and asking pertinent questions. The males are bothered by this. Women can be more chauvinistic than males at times, maintaining the ‘men are better’ mentality.”

Taapsee Pannu

The actress is well-known for starring in one-of-a-kind flicks. She has proven that she is feisty and here to stay with movies like Naam Shabana, Pink, and her most recent album Thappad. Taapsee has spoken out several times against feminism and salary injustice. She previously stated at a gathering, “We should begin with educational equality, where everyone has the freedom to speak up and stand up for what they believe in. A feminist does not want a reservation, more privileges, or a competitive advantage over the other gender… That isn’t what feminism is all about”
