Ekta was also seen making her digital debut with Tanaav on Sony LIV.

In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Ekta Kaul talks about her Pathaan experience, working with Shah Rukh Khan and on her career goals.

Excerpts:

The ‘Pathaan’ experience, how was it for you?

Pathaan was a lot of learning for me. I am very emotional about both my projects. And I don’t want to speak anything more about it. If my Pathaan family did not say anything how can I?

What are your takeaways from this experience?

I learnt that when the intention is right and there’s a lot of hard work and you love your work and you respect everyone and everything around, no power in this world can take away what you truly deserve.

We saw Sumeet Vyas commenting on social media over your presence in the film. What was his feedback and response to your performance?

Sumeet has been really kind. He has always been very appreciative of all my efforts.

How was it to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan?

I can’t share what it means to be around Shah Rukh sir. I still can’t believe I saw him in person.

Even with no pre-publicity in the form of media interactions, SRK and Pathaan have emerged as winners with the film doing huge business. What is your take on it?

Hard work speaks louder than words. Shah Rukh sir was always a winner. We can never take away the recognition he’s got to our country for decades in the world because of his work. He’s a king ya! We all call him Badshaah. He deserves every bit of success and not only Pathaan’s success but every other project that he’s part of, for the amount of hard work he puts into a project. And I am a fan of his.

You are slowly but surely getting back to acting after your motherhood experience. How has your journey been till now?

Working with a baby has been a little challenging for me like every other working mother. It’s hectic, but fulfilling at the same time. And as Shah Rukh Sir said, it’s not about coming back. It’s about moving forward. So I am moving forward with a lot of empathy, understanding, sensitivity, patience, love and a completely different understanding of cinema.

What are the kind of roles you are looking at now?

I want to do all of it. Action, comedy, adventure, horror, fiction, romance, sab karna hai.

Does TV attract you even now?

Of course. How can I not like the platform that got me here? TV will always be close to my heart.

What do you have up your sleeve next?

Some special projects. That I will mention once I am allowed to. Until then keep praying and spread happiness.
