Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai yesterday, February 17. As he was rushed to the hospital, this created a buzz on the internet with many expressing their concerns and different speculations being made about the writer’s health. However, today, on February 18, Dr. Jalil Parkar, who is treating Salman Khan’s father, put an end to all the speculations and assumptions, revealing that Salim Khan is on the ventilator and his condition is stable now.

In the viral video on the internet, the doctor gave a clear statement to the media. He first greeted the media with two more doctors with him, highlighting that he stepped out to inform about Salim Khan’s health, introducing himself as Dr. Jalil Parkar, a pulmonologist, and also introduced the other two doctors.

Stating the scenario clearly, the doctor said, “Yesterday morning, he was admitted to the Lilavati hospital. He was brought by his family physician, Sandeep Chopra, and after seeing him in the casualty and giving him some medications, we realised he needed ICU hospitalisation, and we took him to the ICU. However, he was having jerks, and his blood pressure was high, for which we treated him, and we had to put him on the ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations.”

Adding to it further, he said, “Now the ventilator that was put was as a safeguard so that he doesn’t worsen, so it was not that he was critical.”

Opening up on the health status, the doctor said, “We did the investigation that was required, and today we have done a procedure on him. I will not go into the details of the procedure.”

Concluding his statement, the doctor said the procedure has been accomplished, and now he is fine and stable. He has also shifted to the ICU, and by tomorrow, I think we will get him off the ventilator. He also highlighted that he is doing quite well, noting that due to the age factor, the recovery happens a little slower, but by tomorrow, if everything goes well, Salim Khan will be off the ventilator. Also, at the end, he shared that the writer suffered a brain haemorrhage a little bit, but they have tackled it.
