Edgar made his acting debut in the popular Venevisión telenovela Cosita Rica, which ran from September 2003 to August 2004. In 2003, he was featured in four episodes of the program.

His portrayal of Carlos the Jackal in the 2010 French-German biological film Carlos, Crime Story, and The Undoing is regarded as his most important performance to date.
