Sources reveal that he did so to abandon his Korean accent which is very difficult for someone whose native language is Korean. He briefed the Ellen show “My mom got him all the ten DVDs of the show”, He briefed the Ellen show. Initially he watched the series in the Korean language itself with English subtitles acting to be his support system. Later, he watched it in English with Korean subtitles. And for the third time he watched it in English without any subtitles.
The rapper, once said, “My English teacher was the fan of sitcom Friends. Back in the days, when I was 14 or 15 it was quite a done thing for all the Korean parents to make their kids watch Friends. I thought I was kind of like a victim at that time, but right now, I’m the lucky one, thanks to my mother.”
After being confident about learning English via FRIENDS, RM told Yahoo that Chandler from FRIENDS is his favorite character and he is a fan of Ross and Rachel’s romance; thereby expressing his love towards the American Television Sitcom. It’s amusing to see how RM taught himself English just by watching a show.
