IPL 2025 has officially been suspended amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. We have seen many celebrities cheer for their favourite teams and players during the cricketing season. We at IWMBuzz.com got a chance to talk to Shivam Khajuria, the lead of Rajan Shahi and Star Plus’ Anupamaa on his favourite teams in this year’s IPL and his thoughts about the suspension of IPL 2025.
Says Shivam, “Lives are more important than any sports right now. I personally feel IPL has been stretched a lot. It should have been finished within 45 days. Stadiums are places where large numbers of people gather and it could be an easy target for the enemy.”
We could not stop but ask more about this year’s IPL and his favourites this time around.
Shivam was clear in his mind about these four teams having the highest probability of making it to the Playoffs of IPL 2025. “I feel Punjab Kings, RCB, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals would have made it to the Playoffs.”
On what went wrong with big teams like Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shivam said, “For CSK, their key players got injured, and after that, it was mostly down to hard luck. As for SRH, apart from 2-3 players, the rest of the squad seemed completely out of form, which made it hard for them to be consistent.”
Shivam was hugely in support of the Punjab Kings team this year which was ably led by Shreyas Iyer.
With whatever matches he watched, Shivam liked the performances of many players. “Jasprit Bumrah, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Shreyas Iyer, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav have been solid this year. They have been exciting to watch and have delivered some memorable performances.”
In the same breath, Shivam expressed disappointment as a few top-rated players failed to perform. “I would say Shivam Dubey, Rishabh Pant, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell Starc have underperformed this season.”
Shivam was hoping to see a blockbuster IPL Finale between “Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings.”
As they say, ‘Man proposes and God disposes’, IPL 2025 has been suspended, and the focus is purely on the Nation’s well-being now.
