In recent days, we have witnessed a remarkable display of solidarity among celebrities from diverse backgrounds as India confronts the challenges posed by rising tensions with Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made the significant decision to suspend the ongoing IPL 2025, a move that has been met with widespread acceptance and understanding from cricket enthusiasts nationwide. Cricket fosters passionate loyalty among its fans; however, the well-being and security of the nation take precedence over all else. This collective response showcases the deep sense of unity and patriotism that resonates across the country during such trying times. Actor Sheel Verma who plays the lead in Shemaroo Umang’s show Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain, is certainly sad of the development, being a big fan of Royal Challengers Bangalore team. But at the same breath, he accepts that this move was essential for the country on the whole.

Says Sheel, “I am sad that RCB got unlucky yet again. I am a diehard fan of RCB and really felt that they will win this time. But yes, country comes first and safety is important. The Government knows better and the decision is rightly taken.”

Talking about the unpredictability in cricket, Sheel talks about the unexpected injury of Ruturaj Gaikwad which troubled the CSK team a lot. “I also play cricket and anything can happen to anyone. So it is very unpredictable and that’s the beauty of cricket.”

Though he has always been an RCB fan, a few players who he enjoyed watching are, “Sai Sudarshan, Riyan Parag and Virat Kohli.”

As per Sheel, “Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Rinku Singh did not play as per expectations.”

Sheel wanted to see RCB and Mumbai Indians in the finale of IPL 2025.

Having said this, cricket can wait!! Now the focus is on the country!
