Kaizad Kotwal was born in Mumbai city in Maharashtra and has been a marvel to the theatre world. He is not only a well renowned theatre persona, but also a producer, director, writer and a designer. His mother is the one and only Mahabanoo Mody Kotwal who has also made some marvelous contributions to the theatre world through her god gifted talent of acting. Kaizad seems to follow her footsteps too.
Kaizad Kotwal has done over 200 film and theatre productions in all his years of experience and has also won over some great achievements for the same. In the year 1996, Kotwal won an Emmy Award for Art Direction. Currently, Kaizad co owns a theatre production company called Poor-box productions along with his mother Mahabanoo Mody Kotwal and this very company began in Ohio in 1996 and in 1999 the Indian company came into being after they produced Shirley Valentine. Kaizad is also a professor for theatre, media studies and film currently in Colombus in Ohio at the Ohio State University. Even there, Kotwal has been awarded the Griffin society award in 2008. After producing over 200 plays and movies, he still says that theatre is his first love.
