Physics Wallah, helmed by Abhishek Dhandaria sparks the life story of Alakh Pandey, who brought a revolution into the education system

The series straight away breaks through the point where a young man started off his journey to ignite a rebellion. At the very instance, the vision gets clear that of a young mid-30 man who aims to bring a revolutionary education system to India and the subcontinent. Shreedhar Dubey, who plays Alakh Pandey in the series, fetches life to the character with verisimilitude.

The story spins around the life struggles, and financial issues of Alakh Pandey but yet how he catered to devote his heart and soul to reach out to the maximum “underprivileged” education enthusiasts in the country. Quitting his primary coaching centre where he used to teach delimited students, he went on to initiate his own YouTube channel to provide children with physics tuition for free.

Coming back to the series, we feel a documentary would have been better! Even though the director chalked out the very unpretentious nuances of Alakh Pandey’s life, the series still somewhere lacks the intensity of it. For it almost looks like a fairy tale that only can look good on the screens. The ‘realm’ of it goes a bit unheard as it elevates in the six-episode series cooped in around 50 minutes each, following the wishy-washy screenplay.

Because let’s be brutally honest! To put in such an enterprising dream in a country like India doesn’t look so light-hearted when you pound the battlefield. Yet we applaud Abhishek Dhandaria for outlining the ‘need’ to celebrate the unsung hero of India, Alakh Pandey. Nevertheless, the powerful artistry of Shreedhar Dubey is the only string that keeps the episodes attached and makes the series watchable.

The Amazon miniTv series is for the youth of the country. A must-watch for the aspiring entrepreneurs of India. The series teaches you that nothing can really shackle down if you own your ‘will’ to make it happen.

IWMBuzz rates it 3 stars.
