According to the Daily Sabah, Beyhan Mutlu, 50, of Bursa’s northern region, went missing on Tuesday after wandering out intoxicated in the forest from his group of friends.

According to the website, Mutlu found himself joining a group of volunteers who were supporting authorities in their search for him.

According to Turkish news channel NTV, Mutlu was bewildered when the volunteers began chanting his name and asked who they were looking for.

“I am here,” he reportedly informed them.

Authorities offered the man a ride home when they realized he had assembled his own search party, according to news reports.

This isn’t the first time a missing individual has organized his or her own search and rescue operation.

After she apparently failed to recognize her own description, an Asian tourist who went missing in Iceland in 2012 was recovered by her own search team.
