Snakes and ladders, referred to initially as Moksha Patam, is an antiquated Indian prepackaged game for at least two players viewed today as an overall work of art. It is played on a game board with numbered, gridded squares. Various “ladders” and “snakes” are imagined on the board, each associating two explicit board squares. The object of the game is to explore one’s piece, as indicated by kick the bucket rolls, from the beginning (base square) to the completion (top square), helped by ascending stepping stools yet thwarted by tumbling down snakes.
