I enjoy making Cake Doughnuts because they taste incredible straight from the deep fryer. The outside has a golden-brown crust that is nice and crisp, while the inside is soft and almost cake-like in texture. These doughnuts store well and often taste even better after a day when their crust softens, and their flavor develops.

I usually eat them plain, but they are also delicious with powdered or cinnamon sugar dusting. I like to dip them in a chocolate glaze for an extra special treat. You can add optional toppings such as colored sprinkles, chocolate jimmies (sprinkles), or shredded or flaked coconut.

How to make Cake Doughnut :-

Procedure:

1. Grease the doughnut pan and preheat the oven to 325 degrees Celsius.

2. Take a large bowl, mix flour, nutmeg, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add milk, eggs, vanilla and shortening and blend until mixed.

3. Fill each doughnut cup approx. 3/4 full. Bake for 10 minute. Cool slightly.

4. Blend confectioners’ sugar, hot water and almond extract in a small bowl to make glaze. Dip doughnuts in glaze.
