The current hostile situation in the country around the CAA is something that has raised everyone’s concern. Since the time the Act came into place, it became mandatory for people to prove their citizenship and the fact that their ancestors were here in India before 1971. The Act states that refugees (except Muslims) will be granted citizenship even if they cannot prove their citizenship. The entire thing has resulted in strong protests and furore in the entire country, the most noteworthy being at Jamia Islamia, where recently the students were literally attacked by the police and beaten up for raising a voice. Since then, several celebrities have started to show their stand on the issue and the latest actor doing the same is none other than Bollywood’s ‘Greek God’ Hrithik Roshan. Take a look –
As a parent and a citizen of india , I am deeply saddened by the unrest across various educational institutions of our country. I hope and pray for peace to return as soon as possible. Great teachers learn from their students. I salute the worlds youngest democracy.
