Dolly Thakore was born in the year 1943 on the 10th of March in a place called Kohat. Among all of the people who have contributed to the Indian theatre world, she is known among the most iconic ones. She has made some very generous contributions for theatre to cherish as a stage actress. But what most don’t know is that she is not only a stage actress but also a casting director. She got her first training from BBC London for radio and television. Her years of learning and expertise are very prominent when one sees her live on stage. It is the only time one can see Dolly in her true element of acting.

Dolly first got her big break when she worked on Doordarshan Mumbai as a newsreader. After her job there she moved on to the theatre world to nurture her skills in what she loved doing. When she entered the theatre world she seemed to do pretty well as she starred in phenomenal plays like A Streetcar Named Desire, All My Sons and The Birthday Party. However one play that was among the most sensational ones has to be Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf. It was so good that the word not only spread across the country but also across the globe. She also went on to marry Alyque Padamsee who is a very famous name in the theatre world too. She also has a son named Quasar who has also contributed to Indian theatre. It is fair to say theatre is a family thing to them.
