Wearing the same outfit as someone else to a significant function is highly frowned upon in Hollywood. Nobody likes to be pitted against another celebrity in a tabloid’s “Who Wore It Best?” section! Wearing something eerily identical, on the other hand, appears to be acceptable—Hailey Bieber and Olivia Rodrigo in Saint Laurent are proof.
Olivia Rodrigo pulled a “Miley” when she arrived at the 2021 Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala in Los Angeles. Basically, she dressed up in something sexier and more mature in order to distance herself from her previous squeaky-clean Disney image. And, by the way, she looked amazing.
Rodrigo wore a black Saint Laurent gown with a split down the leg and a stunning wavy neckline that showed off her cleavage. She appeared to be the sophisticated, stylish woman she aspires to be.
Rodrigo eschewed her normal the-more-the-merrier Gen Z penchant for accessorizing and wore nothing but a pair of black sandals to allow the dress to do all the talking. In terms of makeup, she opted for dewy skin, a subtle eye, and a classic red lip.
Her long brown hair was pulled back into a middle-parted updo, with strands framing her face. I realized her gown was YSL right away, and not only because I’m addicted to scrolling runway images. Her outfit immediately reminded me of Hailey Bieber’s YSL Met Gala gown, which she wore just some weeks ago.
