Gurdeep Kohli of ALTBalaji show, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain 2, does not feel that her character Poonam will take a backseat since the story in Season 2 is more about Rohit (Ronit Roy) and Ananya (Mona Singh).

“The web series has just started and we have total 21 episodes in all. With Ananya coming back to India and engaging with Rohit’s family, my character will have lots to say and do. Plus, we are showing Poonam finding love again. Although Season 2 primarily focuses on Ananya and Rohit, there are several equally important parallel tracks running as well.”

What does she feel about her character giving a second chance to her heart? “It will be a very slow-drawn process, for Poonam, being a traditional Indian woman, would think a thousand times before committing to a man ten years her junior. She also has to factor in what the world, especially her daughters, would feel. But all said and done, it is a beautiful journey of love and friendship.”

Here Gurdeep adds that Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain is an attempt to tell society to give up its old-fashioned ways and come around to accept that one can fall out of love despite years of marriage. “No one is right or wrong. Don’t get me wrong; it has not been easy for Poonam either. Think about what all she had to endure. Poor thing got into an arranged marriage, gave 2 decades to her family, only to find out that her hubby is not interested in her any more.

As you saw in Season 1, Rohit wanted out, period.

What option did Poonam have? Either she could have followed the normal TV template of crying, or decided to take him for his every penny as alimony. But that would mean destroying everything she herself built. The only logical alternative would be to make peace with the situation. Why hold someone to your bedroom if he/she is not into you. She also agreed to shoulder the responsibility of her daughter Bani’s (Pooja Banerjee) marriage solo.”

She shares in conclusion: “In the end, as poetic justice, she also gets a chance to rub it in when Rohit laments as to how Ananya could just leave him like this. She tells him on the face that maybe he is doing something wrong. The clincher was her repartee that I never saw you get so worked up whenever we had a tiff.”

We wish her luck.
