Animal Rebellion’s “Plant-Based Future” campaign has sparked a flurry of rallies, which have gained attention in the UK. Online videos of demonstrators spilling milk on department store floors have appeared. In Edinburg, Scotland, a business was where the most recent incident occurred.

Two women are shown in the first scene of the video pouring milk one by one from bottles as they stand next to a dairy area. Next to them, we can see a person holding a sign that reads, “Plant-based future.” The Animal Rebellion group tweeted about the video.

We desperately need the government to support farmers in the shift to a plant-based future, a protestor told Edinburg Live. A plant-based food system would be prosperous for both farmers and the countryside. We could see lovely trees cared for by autonomous, well-supported farmers in place of barren fields.

She was cited as saying, “This is a key response to the climate and ecological crisis that are devouring the Global South and seeing 40 degrees in the UK.”

According to Animal Rebellion, “The dairy sector is tremendously harmful to the environment. More GHG emissions are now produced by the top five meat and dairy companies in the world than by Exxon, Shell, or BP.”

The group said, “Call on the government to support farmers in a transition to a plant-based food system.”

Animal Rebellion stated in a subsequent article that a plant-based future will end the suffering of billions of farmed animals annually as well as one of the major contributors to global warming catastrophe. Additionally, the surplus land that is currently utilized to grow animal feed may be rewilded to help our wildlife populations.
