Spencer, Kristen Stewart’s much-anticipated biopic about Princess Diana, recently debuted its first official poster. Stewart wears an embroidered beige off-shoulder gown that hides her face.

According to a Vogue Paris story, Chanel’s garment is a re-creation of a Haute Couture show gown from the Spring/Summer 1988 season. It’s an organza evening gown with beautiful floral branches made of gold and silver sequins on the bodice.

According to the site, the gown’s neckline is embellished with finely pleated tulle flounce, accentuated with sequins and a satin band. The front of the dress is likewise encircled by a satin bow, and the skirt, which is fitted to the hip, unfolds into hundreds of ruffles and gathers.

Lesage was the one who came up with the idea for the needlework. It turned out that the task required about 1,034 hours, including 700 for the needlework alone.

The plot of Stewart’s film revolves around a weekend in December 1991, when Princess Diana visited the royal family for Christmas and announced her intention to divorce Prince Charles. The film Spencer has its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
