Filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee shares his closest memory with actor Irrfan Khan 1

Irrfan Khan was certainly one of the most dynamic and celebrated film personalities of the world and was one such man who had no hater. A career spanning of several critically acclaimed movies, Irrfan was loved by one and all.

One such person who loved Irrfan a lot because of his nature is Filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee. When IWMBuzz got in touch with him and asked his closest memory of Irrfan Khan, he said and we quote,

” This is about 20 years ago when I started as a freelance journalist in Kolkata. I used to work for Asian Age and simultaneously host a talk show ‘Talk Bangla’. My first meeting with Irrfan Khan happened to be in Kolkata and it was wonderful. I just called him once for an interview and he immediately agreed. Such was the humility of the man. However, on the day of the interview, I remember I was very sick and had 101-degree fever. But my guest was Irrfan Khan so I still had to go. When he saw me, he realized that I am really unwell and realizing that, he gave me medicine and food and what not and asked me to sleep and rest for some time. Not just me, my assistant and videographer who was there with me, he asked him to be comfortable as well before we work. Such was the magnanimity of the man even 20 years ago. He will always be very dear to my heart. It’s a huge loss. ”
