Yolanda and Mohamed Hadid welcomed Gigi Hadid into the world on April 23, 1995, in Los Angeles, California. Having been discovered by Paul Marciano of Guess when she was just two years old, she started her modelling career with Baby Guess before pausing to focus on her studies. She eventually resumed working with them.

She made her acting debut in 2011 as Andrea in the short film Virgin Eyes. She is most known for modelling for Sports Illustrated and for playing a recurring character on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2010) since 2012.

It’s safe to say that Gigi Hadid is familiar with the Met Gala’s red carpet by this point, having attended the event six times. The supermodel has pulled off a range of significantly varied themes along the road, from campy to futuristic, since attending her first Met in 2015. Vogue is reviewing all of Hadid’s best Met Gala red carpet ensembles in advance of Monday’s lavish event.

When she attended the “China: Through the Looking Glass” theme of the 2015 Met Gala wearing a red DVF gown, Hadid launched her Met Gala fashion career. A deep V-neckline and a tall slit finished off the design. She changed it up a year later for “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” donning a futuristic Tommy Hilfiger dress with a spangled corset for a touch of otherworldly glitz. She posed side by side with her ex, Zayn Malik, who was decked up in a black Versace suit with silver armour detailing on the sleeves.

Hadid’s Met ensembles have become more ornate and theatrical as the years have gone by. She, for example, wore a champagne-coloured Tommy Hilfiger gown with an asymmetrical tulle train for the 2017 “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” theme. She had one of her most beautiful appearances in 2018 when she wore a Versace gown with stained glass window inspiration at the “Heavenly Bodies” exhibition.

In 2019, Hadid nailed the camp motif by donning a Michael Kors Collection outfit that included a silvery jumpsuit with a matching cloak, boots, and headpiece. She walked the red carpet in a strapless Prada dress last year that included a back split and leather opera gloves, creating a design that was both classic and cutting edge.

Hadid will wear a remarkable outfit at the Met Gala on Monday, though it will be difficult to guess what exactly she will wear based on her past ensembles. The model has done an excellent job of keeping us guessing and playing with a wide range of different outfits.
