With sustainable fashion gaining traction, Hollywood superstars are bringing their A-game to red carpets year after year by upcycling outdated gowns, as seen at this year’s Oscars by Jane Fonda and others. We’ve seen celebrities replicate their ensembles before, and we loved it!

Jane Fonda

Remember when Jane Fonda said that she would never purchase clothing? She did, after all, mean it. Jane wore her long-sleeved maroon red dress to the Oscars 2020 ceremony, which we’ve seen previously. Jane first wore the red dress, which she paired with a crimson coat, to Cannes in 2014. As part of her fight against climate change, she did this.

Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen white and gold gown to the BAFTA 2020 red carpet. The Duchess donned the same outfit she unveiled in 2012 while on the Diamond Jubilee Tour of South East Asia with Prince William, sticking to the theme of sustainable fashion for the evening.

Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett donned the lacy black gown for the Golden Globes in 2014 and again for Cannes in 2018. But who wouldn’t want to wear that dress?

Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks donned the same red dress to the Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2020 as she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2004, and she looked just as stunning as she did 16 years earlier. “It’s gorgeous and it fits…so why not wear it again!” the actress captioned a photo of herself from both nights on Instagram.
