While Dostana made an immense craze in the country, after Karan Johar announced Dostana 2, over a tweet saying, “Dostana 2 is definitely starting next year…Script is locked…Abhishek (Bachchan) and John (Abraham) are ready!!! The boys are back!! Tarun (director Tarun Mansukhani) is all set.…”, the netizens were driven crazy. However, there was no progress. Later in an interview, Tarun Mansukhani said, “I would be directing a film but it is not ‘Dostana 2’. I am not making ‘Dostana 2’ right now. But now it is an ego thing so I will make ‘Dostana 2’ someday.”. But then Karan Johar brushed off all the rumours and announced Dostana 2 but without John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.
2. Hera Pheri 3
Here Pheri 3 was all set to be on board with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham along with Neha Sharma. However, later it got shelved for financial problems.
3. Vettai Remake
It was announced that John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan will be essaying the leads in the film. However, later Abhishek Bachchan revealed that he has opted out from the film for he had date issues.
4. Do Aur Do Panch Remake
It was said that Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham were to be set for the roles in the 1980 film remake, then starred by Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. However, later it didn’t work out and fans missed another chance to witness the pair onscreen.
5. Pagalpanti
It was rumoured that the film would star John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, however, according to a report by DNA, Abhishek Bachchan was never offered the film.
6. Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake
John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan were all set to pair up for the film, however, later Abhishek Bachchan stepped out of the film.
