Ranbir Kapoor’s recently released film, Shamshera, faced failure at the box office. The film didn’t satisfy enough the audience that it was hoping for. However, even after a round of promotions, the film couldn’t make it to success and review from the critics. The film is considered Ranbir Kapoor’s return to the screen after a break of four years. It only earned 31.7 crores in its initial weekend. The film also got some disappointing reviews. The film’s director Karan Malhotra received so much hate that he left a note saying, ‘could not handle the hate and rage’ that he was getting.

Karan shared a note on his Instagram account, writing a caption that reads, ‘Shamshera is mine’ and continued with, “My Dearest Shamshera, you are majestic the way you are. It is important for me to express myself on this platform because here is where is all the love, the hate, the celebration and the humiliation exist for you. I want to unimaginably apologise to you for abandoning you for these past few days as I could not handle the hate and rage. My withdrawal was my weakness, and there are no excuses for it.”

Further, he wrote, “But now I am here, standing beside you, feeling proud and honoured that you are mine, Will face everything together, the good, the bad and the ugly. And a huge shout out to the Shamshera family, the cast and crew of Shamshera. The love, the blessings, and the concern that has been showered upon us are the most precious and nobody can take that away from us. #ShamsheraIsMine #Shamshera.”

The film got drastic reviews from different platforms. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor as the lead heroine and Sanjay Dutt. In addition, Ranbir Kapoor is seen in a double role in the film as he plays the role of father and son.
