Snowdrop, the K-drama of Blackpink has been making it to the headlines ever since its synopsis was released early in 2021. A report on how the petitions have been flooding to stop the telecast of the program from the time its first two episodes aired, is being talked about in koreaboo.com. We take reference of that story for our write up here.

As of December 20, 2021, more than 200,000 signatures have been collected in support of stopping the broadcast of Snowdrop, just one day after the petition was initiated on December 19, 2021, following the airing of the first two episodes. The petition criticizes Snowdrop for distorting history and disregarding the efforts and sacrifices made towards democratizing South Korea.

The drama portrays a spy as a supporter of the democratic movement, which is a disgrace to actual supporters who lost their lives during the movements when they were falsely accused of being a spy.

Well, while the ban seems inevitable, the fans of Snowdrop worry about it being taken off from jtbc as well. But they also hope that the airing will at least continue on Disney +, the streaming platform.

Let’s see what happens!!
