Popular actress Sapna Thakur, who is currently essaying the grey character of Samaira in Zee TV’s show Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti, has always been in the limelight for her interesting roles on TV. Although she plays a negative role in the daily, the actress is quite a sweetheart.

In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Sapna spoke about her character graph, show and more…

Tell us, how’s it been playing Samaira so far in Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti?

It has honestly been a wonderful experience, so far. I have bonded really well with the entire unit, my producer and director, Arvind Ji (Babbal) as well as all my co-actors, we are all like a family now. Playing the character of Samaira is literally cherry on top and I feel it is the best role that I have played in my career until now.

How challenging it is to play the role of Samaira? Was there any inspiration for you?

Samaira is a very complex and not the usual black and white kind of character. So, playing this role has been emotionally as well as physically challenging. She is just the opposite of who I am. She is in love with Kuldeep and knows no boundaries when it comes to winning him over. So, a lot of times she goes beyond her limits to win him. As they say, everything is fair in love and war, she lives by this fundamental.

What do you enjoy enacting more… a negative or positive character?

I enjoy playing a good strong character that has relevance to the main story. Whether it is a positive or a negative character that does not matter. What matters is that when I am on screen, it has to be impactful. While playing negative roles is more fun, challenging, and entertaining, deep within I also crave to play a simple lovable positive lead.

How has your experience been working with your co-stars?

We all are like one big happy family. Our team is wonderful, my bond with Neha Marda and Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi is really strong, and we spend a really good time on the sets of our show. I feel really happy when I am on the set with them.

When you bond so well off-screen, is it difficult to shoot scenes wherein you have to be harsh on them?

When it comes to acting, I maintain a very professional attitude. I do what is required to bring out the best in my character. It has never affected me in any personal or professional way.

What audiences can look forward to in the coming episodes?

Entertainment, entertainment and entertainment. (laughs)

What is your take on women empowerment?

A truly developed nation is one where there is no gender inequality. I feel equal opportunities, equal pay and equal respect are very important irrespective of gender.

Any final message for fans…

All I would like to say is, keep the faith, be patient, be strong and stay safe!! The entire world has been through a tough phase for the last 18 months. Let’s hope and pray that the worst is over and we all can lead our normal lives soon. And don’t forget to watch our show.
