&TV’s Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha is an enthralling show revolving around the tussle between the good and the evil. Beautifully narrating the pursuit of the intelligent King Vikramaditya aka Aham Sharma to find the wise ghost Betaal aka Aayam Mehta as challenged by Bhadrakaal aka Sooraj Thapar has been loved by the young audiences for its mythological connect. In the upcoming track, the plot is set to witness the iconic story of Eklavya and Dronacharya in which young actor Rudra Soni will be playing Eklavya. The talented actor who was last seen in a critically acclaimed mythological film has also been a part of some famous television shows. With Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha, he is ready to shine and present his acting abilities in a new mythological role.

“As a kid, I have grown up listening to stories of Eklavya and Dronacharya from the Mahabharata and many a times, my parents also narrate some interesting stories from our history. I am really excited to play this classic character on small screen and portray his reverence towards his Teacher Guru Dronacharya played by Sudhir Neyma.” says Rudra. Adding to playing characters inspired by mythology Rudra shares, “I have played different characters in the mythological and historic space and in a time and age where viewers are consuming content rapidly, they want to view characters that are new age and connect with them instantly. While I enjoy playing these characters, I look forward to taking up roles or projects in the future where I get to play characters that are modernized and dwell in the present. Though enacting mythological and history inspired characters are enriching, my interests now lie in playing modern roles.”

Rudra, who has been a part of both TV and films strongly feels that a story revolving around the, ‘Guru – Shishya’ relationship is inspiring to not just to young children but adults as well. He adds, “Characters that are inspired from events in the past come with a lot of originality and that is where one has to maintain the same authenticity which I feel gets challenging. Aesthetically, wearing heavy jewellery and enacting scenes gets taxing for actors but on the other hand the entire process becomes worthwhile once the viewers acknowledge the character or get influenced by them in a good way.”

The story of Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha will see the mythological tale of Eklavya and his Guru Dronacharya from the Mahabharata where in Eklavya comes to seek shiksha from Dronacharya. In a bow and arrow fight, Dronacharya makes Arjun compete with Eklavya, where the latter is defeated. After the fight Dronacharya asks Eklavya to donate his right-hand thumb as part of Guru Dakshina. Eklavya being a dedicated student doesn’t give it a second thought and immediately cuts his thumb and donates it to him. Dronacharya gives him a vardaan that his name will be immortal in the books of mythology as a symbol of discipleship. Offering his thumb was not just a symbol of discipleship, but it also helped motivate Eklavya’s village men to fight with the army men.

Talking about the dedication and persistence that Eklavya had Rudra shares, “I’m glad Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha is portraying a story on Eklavya and his Guru Dronacharya. Eklavya’s obedience and perseverance made him immortal in mythology, I would like to incorporate this quality of his in my life too. Eklavya is remembered as the most obedient disciple of Guru Dronacharya who with his greed to learn the state art became the most powerful in the kingdom.”

The upcoming episode of Vikram Betaal Ek Rahasya Gatha that showcases the immortal story of Eklavya and Dronacharya and is sure to be a delight to watch for the audience.
