As a media student at Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, Pune, acting happened by chance. A batchmate was making a short film, and it is lead actor happened to break his leg. “My friend said I looked like him, so he asked me to step in. I played a daily-wage mechanic, and had fun portraying someone who was not from my world,” he says.

Dhruv made a short film, Kunal, about a stranger who shares his experiences via a home-made radio transmitter. It went on to win the Golden Gateway Dimensions Mumbai Award at the Mumbai Film Festival, 2015.

Dhruv after completing his studies started working as an associate director and co-editor under filmmaker Jaideep Varma. He worked on documentary films like Baavra Mann (2013) and I am Offended (2015). After almost 2 years, he joined a media company, Pocket Aces Pictures Pvt. Ltd. as one of the founding members of the team. Dhruv has then also worked as a writer, director, and actor for Dice Media and FilterCopy. This just proves how multitalented he is.

Though he was always there, he received huge fame in 2016 when he played the lead role of Dhruv Sehgal in the web series ‘Little Things,’ opposite Mithila Palkar. That was when he got noticed by the audience. And shy as he is, he usually likes to stay behind the screen.

Dhruv in 2018, was also part of a panel at the Indian Screenwriters Conference. Dhruv has also worked opposite Alia Bhatt in the commercial for über eats.
